Product Features and Details
Prototype: The KkStB (Imperial Austrian Rairoad) purchased 69 class 47 locomotives. The class 47 were built between 1889 and 1900 by the Wiener Neustadt Locomotive Factory in Vienna Austria and by the StEG Locomotive factory in Linz Austria. A total of 69 were produced and they were mainly used for freight service. Many variations were built using different types of boilers, pumps and fittings. After World War I many were given to the PKP (Polish State Railroad) and other countries as war reparations. During WWII the Deutsche Reichsbahn took over three locomotives in 1938. They were re-numbered to class 53.7101-03. The last class 47 was taken out of service in 1958.
